FAD House Collar Program

E-mail Print

Purpose:
FAD and its members understand that it can be difficult to attend a BDSM event, social or demo, especially if you are new to the lifestyle and scene. Perceptions of what goes on at events are colored by inaccurate and sensationalistic portrayals in various forms of the media. People may need a chance to sit back and observe what "really" goes on and to talk to others in an informal manner without feeling they are being pressured into playing. In an effort to relieve some of those fears and apprehensions, we are proud to offer the FAD House Collar Program.

When someone attends and wears a FAD House Collar, it signifies they are under the protection of FAD Officers, for that event. Anyone can request to wear a collar for the night or event, whether you are a new submissive, a new Dominant or not sure and just want to check things out. While wearing this House Collar you are free to socialize, engaging in social discussions and activities without the worry of unwanted problems and/or propositions.

If someone wants to speak to a House Collared person about possible play, or a House Collared person wants to speak to someone about playing, then either individual must come to a previously designate FAD Officer, Protector or Representative FIRST to negotiate this step. These representatives will be pointed out at the beginning of each FAD event.

Please respect the House Collar and understand that no touching of a House Collared person is allowed. Hopefully this will help to promote the safety and security of those who choose to used the House Collar program while being allowed to explore.

How the FAD House Collar works:

  1. A new person, male or female, Dominant or submissive, may request a House Collar from a FAD Officer before or during the event.
  2. The Officer/Protector will make the person known to the DM(s) on duty, if any.
  3. At the beginning of each social, all in attendance are shown what a House Collar looks like and the Protectors will be announced.
  4. If someone wishes to play with a House Collared person, that person must approach a FAD Protector FIRST to ask about negotiating for play, NOT the person wearing the collar. This is done so that the House Collared person is free to ONLY watch for the evening and NOT play at all, if that is their wish. No one new ever feels pressured or expected to play, and they will not be placed into the perhaps uncomfortable postion of having to say 'No'.
  5. If the House Collared person has decided they would like to play, the FAD Protector will help conduct negotiations, making sure that the submissive knows about the Dominant's skill level and areas of expertise, as well as making sure the Dominant knows about the submissive's limits and safe words.
  6. As play is conducted, the FAD Protector will see that the play is done in an SSC manner…and that appropriate aftercare is provided.
  7. If at any time during the evening the wearer of the House Collar feels comfortable enough to remove it, they MUST discuss it with the FAD Protector first.
  8. Any attendees not respecting the House Collar program policy will be warned. Second offenses will result in immediate eviction from that event and possible suspension from future events. FAD takes the protection and assurance of our House Collar program seriously - we want those who are new and perhaps uncertain of what to expect to feel comfortable in joining us to observe and learn.
  9. FAD Officers and assigned Protectors are always happy to answer any questions you may have during the evening about FAD, play activities or the BDSM scene in general.
